How many times have you heard, “Love Yourself First? You Can’t Really Love Someone Else if You Don’t Love Yourself!”
Do you believe it? Do you really love yourself? Do you even like yourself?
I hope so. You deserve it.
But, unfortunately, this is one of life’s lessons that many of us fail to learn and really live until much later in life, if ever. We find it easy to love others: family, friends, our children, our mates, but why then is it so hard to love ourselves?
To many of us it may seem selfish to do for ourselves or think about ourselves the way we think of others? But we shouldn’t.
We each deserve love. Every single one of us is as important as anyone else. See that is the thing about love. Take away money, power, fame, drive, careers, economic status, race, class and so on.If we strip all that away, every single one of us is the same. We are all important beings of light. We all deserve love.
No one knows your needs, feelings, and wants more than yourself. So why not be the person who gives and fulfills those things. It isn’t selfish and here is why.
If you love yourself and attend to your needs to feel loved, you are full. You don’t need anyone to meet your needs and make you feel loved. That way when you come to a relationship with anyone, already complete and full, you don’t need them to be anything, or do anything. You can love them just as they are whoever they are.
That is unconditional love.
That is what true, authentic love for another is. One where you love them no matter what. This is what love is at its purest most powerful form.
And to love someone that way, you have to be loved by you. No one can love you the way you can.
So stop thinking it is selfish, or self-centered in a negative manner to love yourself. Because without it, you can never experience complete and unwavering love.
It all begins with you. Love you. You are beautiful. You are perfect. And you deserve to be loved with everything that you are.
That is where it all begins.
Give yourself the greatest gift there is…Love yourself, like only you can.
